This one-hour course provides an update on Michigan’s Administrative Rules for
Dentistry, with emphasis on key provisions related to definitions, recordkeeping,
delegation of duties, and recent rule changes. Ethical principles and legal
responsibilities will be integrated throughout to enhance understanding of how
professional conduct and compliance intersect in clinical practice.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify ethical principles and tort concepts essential to the delivery of oral health
care services.
2. Describe current legal duties that may be delegated to allied dental personnel
under Michigan law.
3. Explain recent updates to Michigan’s Administrative Rules for Dentistry affecting
recordkeeping, the patient of record, and licensure.
